Fanshawe College hosted a Beer, Wine and Food festival in Forwell on April 5th. Eight local breweries, wineries and different food shops stopped in to give samples of their products. It was free to get in, as long as you were 19 years of age, and sample tickets were only $2.
One of the breweries in Forwell Hall was London Brewery Co-op, where Cody Chambers, an employee, spoke about their products and their future plans. He says the Co-op is trying their hardest to get into the LCBO, to sell their beer to the public, opposed to going/hosting events. But, he says that the process is lengthy, although they are hopeful.
The brewery consists of more than 12 beers, all crafted by the Co-op and all of the beers range in alcohol percentages.
The London Brewery Co-op differs from other breweries because they try their hardest to stay with local workers. Chambers also says that the camaraderie between the workers is extremely important to them, and makes their brewery special.
The brewery believes that college students and younger adults is what is going to get their name and business out to the public.
