Winter fought back in the London area late in the season to leave cars looking like salt blocks. Now that the spring season has arrived, many Londoners are looking to get their cars prepped for the warmer months.
Auto detailing shops have been hard at work transforming customers cars inside and out, so that their car will be in working order for the rest of the year before winter rolls back around again.
“We hear the phone ringing multiple times a day. Everyone obviously anxious on trying to get the salt out of their vehicles. This year has been absolutely horrendous with the amount of snow we’ve had. That results in the amount of salt they put on the roads which then translates to you tracking it into the vehicle,” says Tangent Car Care owner, Grant Elgie.
Elgie deals with all types of cars at Tangent Car Care. From small cars to transports, he does it all. Some although, can be dirtier than others.
“Guys are just dumping food everywhere. There’s multiple layers of mold. If they have a dog or have been into chain smoking, that just compounds it. Makes it a lot worse.”
Getting the car cleaned is near the top of the priority list for many, but paying $100 for a professional cleaning may not be in the budget.
Doing spring cleaning is possible to accomplish and quite a bit more affordable. Elgie advises anyone deciding to clean on their own, to be cautious with anything besides water and vinegar. If it is a well branded product or is meant to clean car surfaces, then it is safe to proceed cleaning those messy salt stains.
