When set up correctly, a new turntable wired to a pair of quality speakers can craft the sound of vinyl records into something mesmerizing.
It sounds as if the band is playing for you as opposed to a recording of a band playing for you.
As a music lover myself, I decided to hit the London Record show @ Centennial Hall to check out what they had spinning.
Record Store Day 2018
The culture behind vinyl records seems to be very much alive. Centennial Hall welcomed people of all ages to browse (surprisingly all ages did browse).
“The indie record stores are the backbone of the recorded music culture. It’s where we go to network, browse around, and find new songs to love. The stores whose owners and staff live for music have spread the word about exciting new things faster and with more essence than either radio or the press. Any artist that doesn’t support the wonderful ma and pa record stores across America is contributing to our own extinction.”
~ Joan Jett
Record Store Day 2018 is queued up for April 21st.

Vinyl record sales are recently becoming more news than they are novelty.
According to Neilson Music Canada’s report on vinyl record sales, 2017 has been the most flourishing year for the medium over the past 20 years of LP sales being recorded.
The Canadian industry saw a 21.8 per cent increase as sales rise to 804 000 units.
An interesting “new wave” in the vinyl record industry coming after HMV filed for bankruptcy; Then being phased out by its competitor Sunrise Records.
With record store bars popping up around Toronto, London may see a similar movement in LP culture in the coming years.
More importantly take the time to experience the culture behind the sound, meet some new friendly faces, and listen to what you love.
