The rise of mental health issues in society has caused conventional treatments like therapy and medication to not be enough for people looking for help. With London’s first ever rage room called Smash Club, Londoners will have a safe place to release some stress and not get in trouble for it.
Smash Club is a small business in London where customers can spend money to take their anger out on an assortment of glass and plastic objects with tools provided to them. The opening of the Smash Club provides another piece to London’s large entertainment sector.
While Smash Club may be rising to popularity in the community owner Jephanie Yem said it didn’t come without hard work, saying “There were a lot of sleepless nights, and days that started in tears, but it all came together in the end.”
Although Smash Club is aimed to tackle mental illness it also serves as an alternative to recycling. All of the items used by customers at smash Club come from business and donors who are looking to get rid of old office equipment or personal items without having to pay the cost of removal.
Smash Club is located at 1100 Dearness Dr Unit 21, London and opens at 4 pm from Monday to Friday and 11 am on weekends.
