Definition of fetish: a form of sexual desire in which gratification is linked to an abnormal degree to a particular object, item of clothing, part of the body, etc.
It’s okay to have a little bit of a fetish, it’s 100% normal, but once that fetish becomes obsessive or invasive of other peoples comfortability, that’s when I start having a problem.
On many occasions, queer women were made to feel uncomfortable from others just because of their sexuality.
I shouldn’t have to feel uncomfortable hugging my girlfriends when I leave a party but yet, people have to go that extra mile and make things weird.
I’ve had situations where men would ask me ‘can I join?’ or ‘can I watch?’ and it’s not cute nor attractive. All that’s doing is making me wish I didn’t come to this outing, which was not the plan. I just wanted to have a good time with my friends.
Queer women are fetishized on a daily basis. With men saying “she just hasn’t had good D” or “I bet I can change her mind”, this is all a form of a fetish. Some men are just so convinced that since they are a man that they have a right of passive to queer women but that’s simply not true.
Us queer women should feel safe and comfortable in our community but sometimes it’s very difficult.
We need to stick together and stand up for each other. When we see someone getting harassed, stand up, say something. Do something.
