Last Tuesday, Ontario loosened most of its Covid-19 related restrictions, most notably the removal of the vaccine passport. Because of this Open Mic Night is returning to Carey’s today and every Monday for the rest of the school year.
Fanshawe’s Music Industry Art students run this weekly event that provides anyone the opportunity to get up on stage and preform.
The event is hosted by local musician Jeffy Bee, who ensures there is no lulls in the action between acts. He says “I’m happy to facilitate whatever people want to do in the open format,” ensuring a unique experience every week.
Microphones are set up at 9 p.m., but you are required to bring your own instrument. There is no additional cost, so just come down and enjoy the event.
Carey’s is a popular location for Fanshawe students as it resides just across the street from the college. On top of a fantastic atmosphere, Carey’s provides a daily food and drink special to keep you coming back.
Monday’s Open Mic Night brings a new food special to Carey’s, 10$ perogies and a side, and 5$ domestic pints. Along with the new special are new menus to look forward to.
Open Mic Night runs from 9 p.m to 12 a.m.
