London is seeing a boom in major construction projects with a majority of them taking place in the downtown core. The Downtown Loop is one of those project that is in its final stage of construction which one of two major rapid transit projects being worked on in London.
Ted Koza is the Division Manager of Major Projects for the City Of London and gave the public a brief overview of what exactly the 3rd and final stage of construction would bring to the project.
“Bus lanes will be clearly marked to show bus only lanes as well as a complete circuit that takes bus riders through major sections of downtown through Queen’s Avenue, Talbot Street, York Street and Wellington Street.
2nd year Fanshawe student Hamoud Achar frequents the buses in London and says how it not only affects himself in a positive way but many other sectors of people.
“This is not only a plus for students but a boost to workers and tourists who use the buses. Buses in downtown will be so much faster and I’m really looking forward to it’s completion”
Barring any setbacks the completion of the loop is expected in late 2023 with the project spanning nine of the city’s most important blocks and passing by some of the biggest landmarks in London like Covent Garden Market, The London Museum and Budweiser Gardens.
The video is a more in-depth look at what Ted Koza says about the completion of the loop.
