The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) has begun investigating an incident on the corner of Wharncliffe road and Oxford street.
SIU spokesperson Kirsty Dennett detailed what transpired between police and the driver of the stolen vehicle
“Officers located the stolen vehicle in the area of Oxford Street West and Warren Cliff Road North an officer attempted to block that car when the driver tried to speed away at about the same time , a civilian attempted to enter that car and fell from the vehicle as the driver fled.” said Dennett
The injured civilian was brought to hospital with critical, but non life threatening injuries
Police recovered the stolen vehicle and the investigation Continues.
