A 30-year-old man is facing a charge of second-degree murder following a London police probe of a suspicious death in the city’s east end.
According to c

Due to an investigation conducted by the Major Crime Section, Khamis Toto of London was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
The suspect and victim were strangers, police say. A weapon believed to be used in the assault has been confiscated. The victim’s identity and the cause of d
eath are not being released, pending the ongoing investigation.
Toto appeared in court on Aug. 4 and was detained in custody.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the London Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
Second-degree murder is an intentional, spontaneous killing, as defined in the Criminal Code. A conviction carries an automatic life sentence with no possibility of parole for a minimum of 10 years.
This is among several of the city’s homicide cases over the last year. Authorities have not indicated whether the incident is connected to anything larger.
Additional details are expected as the case moves through the courts.
