Southern Ontario and Quebec are digging in for the first big taste of winter.
With snow and wind warnings now in effect across much of the region, Environment Canada is urging residents to stay alert as snowfalls and gusty winds sweep in.
Roads are poised to become slick and visibility could drop fast, especially in areas downwind of the Great Lakes.
Forecasts are calling for several centimeters, with some isolated pockets possibly seeing more.
Meanwhile, wind chills will make the cold bite harder, meaning even short trips outside could feel much colder than what the thermometer suggests.
Drivers and commuters should prepare for perilous travel, with blowing snow, slippery roads and possible delays on highways and secondary routes across southern Ontario and Quebec.
If you don’t have to go out, staying indoors or at least waiting until conditions improve might be your safest bet for the coming days.
