It’s a partnership that only makes sense.
The Middlesex London Paramedic Service (MLPS) is teaming up with Fanshawe College to provide graduating paramedic students with an opportunity to gain valuable hands on experience.
The opportunity comes in the form of a bridge program, where students can work directly with MLPS in order to get an idea of how they operate and what they do.
Coordinator of Fanshawe’s paramedic program Jennifer Doyle, says that the program is helpful for students who want to get employed out of college.
“The idea is that after our students complete fourth semester preceptorship, that they’ve learned a lot of the ins and outs of MLPS and are able to gain employment.”
Doyle continued, saying that she’s grateful for the work MLPS does with Fanshawe.
“I’m very grateful for the relationship and the collaboration that we have with Middlesex London (MLPS).”
MLPS is a frequent partner of the college, providing crews and ambulances for simulated mass casualty events including the annual “trauma and treatment” exercise, held in the second year for primary care students.
The deadline for students wishing to apply to the program is Sept. 30, meaning the future is now for the next generation of first responders.
