On Oct. 18, 2025, the Fanshawe Falcons finished a stunner by winning three games in a row to take the OCAA men’s baseball championship for the first time in program history. This run was capped off by back-to-back wins against the St. Clair Saints in two nail-biters.
As with most championships, there is an expectation to take the team and go back to the championships. However, with the constant rotation of players, college sports can be a very volatile environment for groups looking for consistent success.
One of the advantages of winning it all is that people want to join the program. “The only thing that’s really changed regarding recruiting is that there seems to be more players wanting to come to tryouts for the team since we’ve won the championship,” says Fanshawe Falcons head coach Brian Harvey.

Many players also feel as though there is a looming expectation to repeat; however, Harvey does not think this is a factor. “I don’t think there’s any pressure on the staff or the players to repeat, I just think more players have more desire in trying to repeat and work hard at doing that. Many players are doing lots of off-season training in the weight room already.”
Overall, the Fanshawe Falcons will be in search of another championship coming into 2026, and with many returning players, this will be a great opportunity to dominate the league and prove the winning culture that Fanshawe baseball provides.
