It is that time of the year for college and and university students cramming in all the final assignments and exams. For a lot of students after that final exam it is straight to summer. However for international students they have tough decisions to make at the end of the year.
Should they stay in Canada or should they go home where ever that may be. Can they even afford to go home these are hard situations some international students have to decide after that final exam. In Canada there is roughly 800,000 international students according to Canadian Immigration Law Firm that is a lot of students who may be struggling with their future after the school year.
Some tough choices they must make is staying in Canada over the summer until the end of their studies which can sound easy but then they would not be able to see their family for a long time which may be difficult for some people. They can also buy plane tickets that may not be affordable to all and go see their family for a few months which is great but could put a strain on there finances.
While talking to international student Kush Janini he talks about his plans and what he is going to do over the summer. He plans to stay in Canada over the summer and continue his education with summer courses. He did add that if he was not taking summer classes he would be going back to India where he is from to see his family. He did bring up how expensive it is to fly from Canada to India and back again and and how that is another obstacle keeping him away from his family.
It is a sad reality that some international students face that is not always talked about. The beginning of summer is supposed to be joyful and fun but for some it is more stress and more on their plate.
