With the summer just around the corner Fanshawe baseball players are getting ready for the transition from there school teams to summer teams. Pitchers Dusan Karic and Aidan Whitehead are headed to the ICBA a 22 and under junior league In Ontario, Dusan and Aidan will make their rookie debut on May 16th 2023.
Karic and Whitehead who previously won the Fergie Jenkins Showcase league championship talked about his goals going In to this not only new season but new league, Karic said that “It is going to be a big challenge
for me as I am one of the younger guys and as a pitcher I have to make sure I am hitting my spots and Increasing my velocity and trying to be a better pitcher overall for my team.” Karic and Whitehead also
mentioned that over the course of this offseason they have been required to stay In shape by going to the gym on a weekly basis by also being required to have a minimum of 10 hours a week. The two pitchers have had Indoor practices as a team as the Fanshawe head coach prepares the
first year rookies and the Fanshawe Roster for what will be a challenging season for their skill. Aidan talks about him and Dusan’s season while playing for Bulletproof Academy and how their 16u season was there most memorable as Aidan
said ” In Ottawa my team played In the Ottawa championship stadium and I had a high of 13 strikeouts
through 7 Innings” Aidan says that he hopes to carry this same kind of energy as well as skill going to the ICBA. The 2023 season will be the first season that Aidan and Dusan will be playing against each other Instead of with each other which Is something they have always had, Dusan will play for
