Twice a year (March and September) Fanshawe College Main Campus receives students who are interested and committed to building networking and getting a job. This Wednesday, March 6, students had the chance to meet more than 100 companies to connect and deliver their resumé regarding their talents, knowledge, or experience.
Scholars could previously view a list of all of the employers who joined the Career Opportunity to know the industries, backgrounds, and available vacancies.
Some of them preferred to print and bring their curriculum, others filled out forms in some booths, some scanned QR codes to keep in touch, and others talked to headhunters to contact afterward. There were two long lines across the J building accessible to enter from 10 a.m.
Brigitte Mackinnon, Event Planner Career Services says it was a good outcome compared to the last years.
“We had 180 employers join us offering many opportunities to students. We typically have this amount of employers come each March and September but this year we had an increase in student attendance with likely saw double the attendance that we normally see for the fair, so it was a great turnout for students and employers and we hope everybody finds a great opportunity and enjoy the day.”
Some attendants had ready their elevator pitches to get an excellent impression, several stood in line to be photographed to get their best profile photo, and others got some souvenirs, candies, and chocolates, too.
For those Fanshawe students who could not attend today, there is a website to visit:
