Many provinces across the nation are opting for the ban of all flavoured vapes to try and stray minors away from the smoking alternative after a rise in vaping worldwide.
This bill has been put into effect in provinces such as Quebec, New Brunswick, P.E.I., Nova Scotia, Nunavut, and Northwest Territories. This seems to be a very two-sided topic with some people in favour of the flavoured vape ban happening in other provinces while others are saying that this will hinder the people who are trying to use vaping as a means to quit smoking tobacco.
Jon Grindrod an employee at Quality Vapes, a vape store at Oxford and Richmond, shared his point of view on the matter stating “I think that it could shut down most of these stores and I would be out of a job”. This issue is something he’s sure the government is taking these things into account so that businesses don’t crash and burn if the bill were to be put in place.
There is no doubt that there is a problem going on with the rise of underage vaping but is banning flavoured vapes the answer or is there another better alternative to stop this minor vaping pandemic?
