London’s local OHL team, the London Knights, have made it to the second series of the playoffs. The Knights are a key part of London’s event scene and has many fans all around Ontario.
“The London Knights community and fanbase is so much like a family so having social media where we can just show all of our support to the fans and the community, just means so much to all of us”, says Amber Weiss, a social media intern for the London Knights.
The Knights are very active on their socials including Instagram, TikTok and The X. They use these platforms to inform and engage with their fans.
“I go around shooting and filming content”, Weiss explains their social media process, “I send it to my boss and then they go through it with editing, posting,
gathering graphics and it’s all one big team working together to make it happen”.
“People like to see, they like to be updated with what’s going on, even updates text wise like twitter is very important. It keeps people engaged and interested”, says Weiss.
Weiss has always had a love for Hockey, she began playing at aged four. Her love for this sport shows through in the content she produces for the London Knights.
“Working on the social media team with the Knights has given me the opportunity to really see how the players engage with each other”, says Amber, “they’re literally like brothers at this point, they have so much fun, they truly care about each other so much.” She goes on to say that the team truly feels like a family to her.
