Students at Fanshawe who attended the fall and winter term are getting ready to enjoy the summer. As the school is getting ready to close its doors students are packing their bags and wondering what they should do this summer to prepare for next year and to keep busy. Other students who are graduating this year are wondering what they should be doing to get noticed and put themselves on the map.
Two students from Fanshawe seem to be ahead of the game. Abby Shrader who is graduating this year from the one-year flight attendant program, gave students who are graduating this year some tips on what they can do this summer, to help them find a job. She said, “I would say take the summer as an opportunity to just rest and relax and going into the upcoming year, just put yourself out there, you can unlock so many opportunities for yourself if you’re just open an outgoing”.
Ian Ball, a first-year student attending Fanshawe’s television and programming program, spoke about what he is going to do this summer to prepare for next term. He states “I’m probably going to be trying to find an internship and working on my skills for editing and software, that way I keep the skill and don’t lose it. I’m very excited for the following year so i can continue to work on film and television”.
Many students are stressed right now about what they should do this summer. Although taking the time to rest and honing your skills are the most important things to consider. There is no telling what your future career or your future semester will look like but keeping yourself levelheaded and prepared will help you more than stressing about it. Enjoy the beach, enjoy the sun, after all summer does not last forever.
