“Though it’s very busy all the time but I love working at Fanshawe College, they go to different programs to be in a career they love, that’s what I like about working here” Gary Lima’s opinion on his role at Fanshawe College
Gary Liam is the Vice President of the Academic Services – Executive Offices at Fanshawe College. As his occupation entails, he deals with the academic related work within the college: Innovation Village, Graduation, etc.
“With Innovation, we would like to see more Innovation and more creativity. The Applied Research Department and they’re doing a really good job and I want to see them expand it even more. I like to see more experiential learning experiences for students just like you’re doing an interview with me. Just like you’re doing an interview with me, I’d like to see every Fanshawe student, a rich and rewarding experience as part of their training. And then I’d like to expand our contact list so they can hire students as soon as they graduate” Gary Opinion on the Innovation Village on campus.
As an educator in a college, he’s quite passionate about education as it was during his interview, he spoke on how he enjoyed seeing especially students graduating successfully from their program and leaving with a job in their hands leading a successful path in their future.

He wanted to build a new Broadcast Centre after he had enough funding.
Gary has said that after finding out that there was going to be 6 percent less international students in the following year. Though it wasn’t as bad as he expected, he still wants a good year for them outside of home.
Despite the college no longer going to be the same as it once was, with fewer international students. He says that he and the office will find creative ways possible to support the faculty and the upcoming students coming in the following semesters.
Even with the possibility of lack of funding from the government and less international students in the following semesters, Gary and his team are still willing to give international and domestic students the best experience at Fanshawe College. He wants to see everyone achieve a good career after successfully completing their program.
